Lake Lundgren Bible Camp (LLBC) was born in June of 1935. The beginnings were very humble – 50 campers for one week. The missionary spirit and generosity of the Danielson family made it possible to use their five cabins, both for sleeping quarters and classrooms. The camping season gradually grew from one week to two, and then to three weeks, as the number of campers they served continued to increase. Praise the Lord! The camp now has over 100 beautiful acres, forty three buildings, and a year-round ministry to over 5,000 campers a year.
LLBC was meant to be a missionary project from the start and it has continued to be a work of faith, vision, and absolute dependence upon God. The needs have always been met. Lake Lundgren has always been Bible-based and Christ-centered, with both a strong missionary and evangelistic ministry.
Long before Mike and Ruth Hryshkanych in 1975 became the first full-time staff, the Carney Free Church was strongly involved in the camp ministry. Camp has had a major spiritual impact on the lives of hundreds of people from the Carney area through the years, and continues to be used by God to reach and teach our young people through summer camp, retreats, LDC, SST and many service projects. Camp Director Mike says "We thank the Lord for the tremendous support of the Carney Free Church – not only in sending lots of campers, staff, and volunteer workers of all ages, but also for their faithful and generous financial support in providing scholarships to campers, supporting SST’ers, giving to the general fund and capital campaign, as well as a number of camp’s full-time staff families."
Each summer in August at LLBC, CEFC holds their Annual Baptismal Service and Church Picnic.
